TEXAS MUSIC CHART TOPPERS NO JUSTICE LIVIN’ LARGE AND “LIVE” WITH CURRENT RELEASE!
BAND SET TO RECORD BRAND NEW STUDIO RECORD IN WINTER 2008!
Nashville-June 15, 2008-When you are a band responsible for three record releases spawning a handful of hits on the Texas Music Chart and are on the road religiously doing 200 plus shows a year, it is difficult to block away time to record your next much- anticipated studio release. But with pleading eyes from a solid and loyal fan base Oklahoma natives NO JUSTICE will be back in the studio this winter to record their early 2009 release. In the mean time, hits from their two previous studio releases like "The Toast," “Red Dress,” “Bend But Don’t Break,” “Never Come Back” and “Horseshoe Lake” has made NO JUSTICE a permanent fixture on the Texas Music Chart’s Top 10 since 2005, and are featured on the band’s current 2007 release LIVE AT BILLY BOB’S. Falling right in line with their charting track record, the first single release, “Horseshoe Lake,” went to #3 on the chart and remained on the Top 10 for 25 weeks. The second single “Spinning Wheel” has just been released and is at radio now! “It’s more like an award than a live record,” quips lead vocalist Steve Rice. This, of course, is quite understandable when you consider your LIVE AT cohorts including Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, David Allan Coe, Asleep At The Wheel, Roy Clark, Jack Ingram, Pat Green, Kevin Fowler and the Randy Rogers Band…just to name a few.
As it is with any good organic creation, there is an aging process that needs to occur in order to harvest the perfect blend. The band formed in 2001 and in 2003 celebrated their debut release FAR FROM EVERYTHING, which garnered them a Texas sized introduction with their first single “24 Days.” The second single, “The Toast,” hit the Texas Music Chart’s Top 10 and was also one of the Top 15 most requested songs in 2005. The band’s self-titled sophomore release (2006) gave the band their first sweet taste of #1 with “Never Come Back,” which remained at the #1 position for 6 straight weeks. Amidst their growing success with two well- received releases the band welcomed newcomer Joey Trevino on bass in 2007, completing the solid lineup and adding a rich timbre in third part harmony. “He is a jack of all trades; plays anything with strings on it,” explains Rice. “We found our group. We found our sound and direction. We are more focused than we have ever been.”
Focused and armed to the teeth with an artillery of tour dates, NO JUSTICE has spent 2008 around the South and Midwest at some of the most prominent events including Larry Joe Taylor’s Music Festival, Robert Earl Keen's Texas Uprising, Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Family Jam, College Days (College Station), Tumbleweed's Annual Calf Fry (Stillwater), and the band’s own upcoming 9th Annual Dwight Boeckman Music Festival on July 26th in Okeene, Oklahoma. The event is held every year in honor of Dwight Boeckman, a personal friend of the band’s who in July 2000 at just 22 years old suffered a spinal cord injury in a diving accident, which resulted in paralysis from the chest down. The festival was originally created to help Dwight and his family with medical expenses, but by 2005 had surpassed Dwight’s needs and thus shifted its focus towards helping others. Now benefiting The Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, the festival is an all-day, all-ages event featuring performances by Johnny Cooper, Bart Crow, Mama Sweet, the Red Dirt Rangers, Clint Osmus and the Bushmills and, of course, a grand finale by NO JUSTICE. Visit http: //www.dbmusicfest.com/ for show times, ticket price or more information. The band is also gearing up for their upcoming tour with the Bart Crow Band in September.
NO JUSTICE includes Steve Rice on lead vocals/acoustic guitar, Brandon Jackson on vocals/rhythm guitar, Jerry Payne on lead guitar, Joey Trevino on bass and Armando Lopez on drums. The band has shared stages across the greater Midwest with artists such as Robert Earl Keen, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Robison, Billy Joe Shaver, Willie Nelson, Derailer’s, David Allen Coe, Black Crowes, Chris Knight, Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Jack Ingram, Cooder Graw, Gary Allan, Hank Jr., Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Shooter Jennings and Chris LeDoux. An intoxicating mix of country, rock, R&B, funk (and whatever else one can throw in the mix), puts NO JUSTICE in a league of their own and the harmony driven melodies leaves fans waiting with bated breath for their upcoming 2009 studio release!
