| Cheryl K Warner will be releasing “Dreams,” the first single off of her upcoming cd, on April 1! “Dreams” will be released on WHP #76 and CDX #420. “Dreams,” a very romantic song that makes you feel a personal longing of the heart, was written by Matt Dorman in 2002. Ironically, the idea for “Dreams” came to Dorman in a dream. “The song wrote itself when I woke up,” says Dorman. “What gets me is every time I hear it, I get a haunting feeling that it means something more than I can grasp.” “I could not get “Dreams” out of mind after hearing it,” says Cheryl K. “There was something about it that lingered and made me want to sing it…I believe that "Dreams" is both mystical and captivating, lyrically as well as musically.” Combining the honesty of her country roots with the heart of gospel and the energy of rock, Cheryl K.’s voice provides a mirror in which her listeners see reflections of their lives and of their dreams. The Fantasy cd, which includes “Dreams”, is scheduled for release in Fall of 2007. http://www.cherylkwarner.com/ |

| The Jokers Wild Band has released their debut original single "And the Rain." “And the Rain” can be found on CDX #416 track 11, CDTEX, Mark Trail’s comp disc, and March’s Hot Disk (Europe). "And The Rain," a hard driving country power ballad, was written by keyboardist Buck Aaron Thomas and lead guitarist Gary Zaiontz. “If you have ever had a major fight with the one you love, then had to stay awake late into the morning hoping that they would come home, all of which during a monstrous thunder storm, then this is your song!” says Buck. Jokers Wild's release of the single "And the Rain" is the result of one complete year of recording, fine tuning, mixing and mastering. "We like to refer to this recording as the place where high quality Texas Music meets Nashville Recording Standards”, says Gary Zaiontz. “Some have said that the song is actually a rock power ballad cleverly disguised as a country tune. However it comes across to the listener, few can argue with the hard-hitting emotional power of its lyrics. If you have ever waited up late at night during a rainstorm for the one you love to call or come through the door, this is your song! We took great care to construct it with amazing sounding instrumentation and screaming seamless vocal harmonies. It just had to be as perfect as we could get it!" The Jokers Wild Band, a 6-piece country / rock band, was formed in the first quarter of 2002, and has since entertained thousands of audience members throughout the larger Texas dance hall circuit. In 2006, Jokers Wild performed at the Toyota National Sales Convention held at the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum, in San Antonio, Texas. Jokers Wild was honored to be asked to perform among a distinguished prior head of state, as well as such legendary nationally recognized talent and comedic celebrities. "Gaining a strong presence in the international radio market, and attracting a well funded indie or major label are both very daunting tasks, even for a well established regional performance band like Jokers Wild”, says Buck Thomas. “With over two full length albums of our own great original material ready to follow this release, and the continued love and support of our families and loyal fans, I figured we stood as good, if not a better chance of making the cut as anyone else!" http://www.jokers-wild-band.com/ |
Intuition is the sophomore album from Norwegian-born singer/songwriter Ann-Marita. Intuition continues to push the boundaries of modern country music where Ann-Marita's 2004 self-titled debut left off. Backed up by some of Australia's top musicians, and produced by guitar virtuoso Brett Garsed, Ann-Marita delivers an album rich in diversity and creativity. From growing up in a Norwegian mining community north of the Arctic Circle, to coming of age as a foreign exchange student in the American Midwest, to singing party tunes on Swedish cruise ships, to being broke but hopeful pounding the Los Angeles pavement, to building a new life and career in Melbourne, Australia, this girl has lived to tell all, and every little bit of experience has added its share to the heartfelt stories and soaring melodies on Intuition. "As I was writing these songs, I realized there was a theme starting to form," Ann-Marita says. "There was a thread running through everything, tying the songs together: listening to your instincts and following your heart and your gut. The title "Intuition" seemed to fall naturally into place, especially after I wrote what was to become the opening track and first single: "A Woman's Intuition"." "A Woman's Intuition" kicks off the album with a very non-country distorted guitar riff, moving into a knock-down rock'n'roll anthem reminiscent of The Eagles or early Linda Ronstadt, with Ann-Marita's powerhouse voice tearing through the chorus: "I ain't puttin' it down to superstition/ You can't mess with a woman's intuition". "Intuition, to me, isn't about being psychic," Ann-Marita explains. "Women often tend to spend more time listening to other people than to what their own gut is trying to tell them. I've been accused of writing a lot of girl-power songs, and as you can see, I'm not about to stop anytime soon!" Intuition is not your mainstream modern country album. It is, however, proof that an indie artist on a shoestring budget can absolutely make a record that can compete with the majors on every level. All it takes is outstanding musicianship, a producer who can cut to the core of what the artist is truly about, a lot of guts, drive and a healthy sense of humor, and last but definitely not least, some damn great songs and a big, big voice. http://www.annmarita.com/ |
