First Annual Celebration of Nations Festival brings the
world to O’More

Franklin, TN –Head to Franklin Saturday, March 8 and
circumnavigate the globe, sans passport, as O’More College of
Design and Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County host
an international festival of food, dance, music and art on the school
campus at 423 South Margin Street in downtown Franklin.

“On the same day, just up the street, on Main Street, the Irish
festival, Feile Franklin, provides festival goers yet another
opportunity to travel the world without leaving home,” says Kellye
Murphy, Interim Director Williamson County Convention and
Visitors Bureau.

This inaugural year, Celebration of Nations runs from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. on the O’More campus; Feile Franklin goes from Noon until
6 p.m.

“On Friday evening, March 7, Williamson County & City of Franklin
officials and dignitaries from County Laois Ireland will sign official
documents joining the two counties as part of the Sister Cities
program.  We’ll have 36 guests coming here from the Emerald Isle
for this auspicious occasion,” states Doug Sharp, President of
Sister Cities of Franklin and Williamson County. The new
relationship being forged with County Laois, Ireland is in addition
to the sister city affiliation with Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada,
according to Sharp.

A group of dancers, the Reel Celtic, is included in the Irish
delegation.  The nine-member dance troupe will perform at both
Celebration of Nations and Feile Franklin.  Murphy says they make
their debut at noon on the main stage of the O’More campus.

“We are pleased to offer trolley service between the two festivals
and the Second Avenue parking garage. That way, people can
come out and enjoy both festivals on the same day with a short
walk or trolley ride between the two,” Murphy says.

Celebration of Nations is a free festival offering authentic art,
music, dance, jewelry, furniture and crafts on display and available
for purchase.  Funds from the festival will benefit student exchange
opportunities, cultural research, and scholarships for students
within Williamson County.

“This festival is a chance to build local awareness for the Sister
Cities organization as well as a global cultural awareness that
brings us all closer together. A global cultural passion begins with
personal knowledge and understanding of the interconnectedness
of people, universally,” says Mark Hilliard, president of O’More
College. “This passion develops directly from travel, education and
exposure to the richness of various traditions.

Floyd Flowers is “Back On The Radio Again” With A New Single

"If you love listening to the radio, you will love this song.”
– Floyd Flowers

Nashville, TN—Veteran artist Floyd Flowers personalizes his new
single, “Back On The Radio Again” for more than 200 Music Row
and New Music Weekly radio stations.

This up-tempo song is a remake of a top 20 hit back in the 80’s,
but Floyd countrified it. Hear his unique rendition of “Back On The
Radio Again” coming to your station the end of February. “This is a
great kickoff to CRS,” said Floyd. “It is dedicated to all the disc
jockeys out there and their radio friends.”

This traditional country music singer/songwriter has continued to
support and perform for his fellow veterans with his program,
“Help A Vet, Help A Vet.” This disabled vet has offered several
discounts such as free admission to the vets and enlisted soldiers
at all of his 2007 shows and visits were made to Veteran Hospitals
to boost patients moral. "I understand the huge sacrifice they have
made and I am happy to do what I can," said Floyd.

Floyd’s current single, “Overtime” continues to build radio airplay
as it is #68 on Music Row, #2 on the Indie World charts and #26 on
New Music Weekly.

Floyd’s values are old fashioned and his music is anything but
pop. “My musical style is clean and country. I choose to write the
best songs to give the audience a glimpse of who I am.”
