ALANA LEVANDOSKI FREE DOWNLOAD TRACKS & UK TOUR
Writes Maverick magazine publisher Alan Cackett: "With her disarmingly open, irresistible presence, her 1920s-influenced fashion sense and her honest songs, Alana Levandoski and her guitar have hit the roots music scene like a welcome breeze blowing across the dry and arid prairie. She has certainly helped to put Canada on the international map when it comes to Americana and country music."

In the past year, Alana has rarely had time to unpack her bags from traveling. Following dates in the U.K. in early 2007, Alana traveled to Toronto, Nashville and Muscle Shoals, Alabama for co-writing sessions, including those with such American heavyweights as Quinn Loggins, Sam Ashworth, James LeBlanc, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Rachel Thibodeau, and Gary Nichols. In Canada, she co-wrote with Simon Wilcox as well as with Newfoundland's Sherry Ryan.
Alana contributed "Don't You Remember" from "Unsettled Down" to the UK Americana compilation "Bob Harris Presents." Legendary BBC Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris has been one of Alana's biggest supporters in the UK.
This compilation captures the essence of the Americana genre with such household names as John Prine, Billy Joe Shaver, Alison Krauss, and Ray Wylie Hubbard, Patty Griffin along with fellow Canadians Sarah Harmer and Kathleeen Edwards as well as Tracy Bonham, Slaid Cleaves and Todd Snider.
As well, Alana will be front-and-center this Fall on "Borrowed Tunes 2: A Canadian Tribute to Neil Young" with her version of Neil's "Don't Be Denied."
Among the other Canadian artists presented on this star-studded 2-CD are: 54-40, Barenaked Ladies, Joel Kroeker, Dave Gunning, Great Lake Swimmers, Raine Maida, Tom Cochrane, Tom Wilson, Chantal Kreviazuk, Ron Sexsmith, Liam Titcomb, Jeremy Fisher, Jorane, Matt Mays, and Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.
The original "Borrowed Tunes" in 1994 raised over $250,000 for The Bridge School in California, and Toronto's Safehaven which both work with handicapped children.
Alana return overseas with UK dates in Nov. with fellow Canadian Lynn Miles.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 16, 2006) The Canadian Country Music Association has announced that in 2007 Regina, Saskatchewan will be the host city of Country Music Week along with the Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
The announcement was made by the Canadian Country Music Association¹s Chair of the Board of Directors, Heather Ostertag, who added she was ³Šdelighted to be able to award the event to a city so obviously enthusiastic about having Country Music Week in their community.² ³The decision to award the 2007 event to Regina was the result of a very compelling submission by the Regina Host Committee and its province-wide team of supporters² said Ostertag.
For 30 years the Canadian Country Music Association has marked each September with Country Music Week, a four day conference and celebration culminating in the Canadian Country Music Association Awards (established in 1983).
