The Grand Ole Opry's newest son delivers
with this coming of age CD. Josh is one of
the few new traditionalists and is going to be
around for a long, long time.
Carrie's sophomore CD is bound to be as
successful as her debut. It has Country
touches including Carrie's cover of Randy
Travis' 'I Told You So' but is really a Pop
album recorded in Nashville but I guess that
is what radio and the young "Country" fans
want.  A couple of queries..why did Mark
Bright not use Carrie's road drummer who, I
know, is a great studio player because I gave
him his first studio gig and why were such
average photographs used on the sleeve. I
wanted to like this CD because I like Carrie
as a person and perhaps it will grow on me
after a dozen listens. If it does, be sure I will
revise my comments.
Looking at the photographs, it seems like
Sara has become the Dottie West of the new
millennium. It seems hard to believe that she
has amassed this many hits but Sara is an
artist that has grown since her early promise
as the next traditionalist. However, what sets
Sara apart from the rest is a real Country
voice. I particularly liked the John Shanks'
produced tracks and the stand out Radney
Foster/George Ducas song, 'A Real Fine
Place To Start.'

Pure Country...Pure Magic. Listing to some of
George's early hits one wonders why the
writers are no longer enjoying hits. They don't
make them like Dean Dillon, Frank Dycus,
Whitel Shafer, Wayland Holyfield, Wayne
Kempand Sonny Throckmorton anymore.
This is a CD every Country fan needs to play
and play and play. 22 is an amicable number
and this is as amicable as it comes.
This is an interesting release on many levels
not least of which are the songwriting
pairings. Ronnie Dunn writing with Paul
Nelson, Larry Boone and Terry McBride and
Kix Brooks getting together with the legendary
Bob DiPiero. These co-writes especially by
Kix and Bob have breathed new life into
B & D's career. The CD must be a candidate
for Album of the Year.
It is hard to imagine a bad album from Triple
M and so this CD does not disappoint. If
Country radio wants to play Country music
they could start by putting this CD into major
rotation. This CD will live in my car for a long,
long time!!!

The problem with the word "ultimate" is that
something is going to be left out that
happens to be one of your favorites. It's like
"Greatest Hits" and "The Best Of." For me. it
was that delicious duet with Trisha, "Squeeze
Me In." However, I must own up to nitpicking.
This is an excellent coverage of the first
phase of Garth's career and the start of part
two. This is, of course, at #1 ans the more
remarkably so because it is only available
through WalMart. DEFINITELY THE ALBUM
OF THE MONTH.
Trisha's debut CD for Big Machine is an
excellent affair. However, it may be too good.
Country music has gone on to a greater level
of mediocrity and quality may be hard to
sustain. One can only hope. The only
negative thing about the CD is the
photography. Why were such unflattering
photographs chosen and why did the
package designer chop off fingers?. Trisha is
not an amputee!! That apart, this is Trisha's
best CD in an illustrious career.
Jeremy is managed by .P. Williams who
looks after Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and the
other Blue Comedy comedians. He is also
the first artist to be released on J.P.'s Parallel
label. In addition, Jeremy is represented by
Bobby Cudd at Monterey Peninsular Artists
and has Vanessa Davis . All of this is good
for a fledgling artist.  However, Jeremy's best
asset is the fact that he is a damn fine
singer, a damn fine writer and HE IS
COUNTRY. I am gonna go out on a very
stable limb and say, Jeremy McComb is
going to be up there in 2008. He is in the
same real country area as Luke Bryan and
Rodney Atkins AND I LOVE IT!!

In many ways, this is the CD/DVD that should
have come first because it actually gets the
listener to understand what the Wreckers are
about. However, it is indicative of how
Jessica and Michelle view themselves and
how the label views them that a live album
was released so early in their career. This
may be because the duo could have their feet
in several musical camps. A good CD with
perhaps only one negative and that is the
production of the drums which sound very flat
at times.
Laura first came to my attention through her
manager/producer, Roger Sarchet: he and I
go way back. Her debut CD has some good
touches and she reminds me at times of
Helen Reddy. Musically the CD is right in the
groove for 2007 Country and well produced.
Overall, the CD is workmanlike without being
stellar.
It speaks volumes that Trace has now
reached his second Volume of Greatest Hits.
Trace's brand of bravura Country in the
tradition of honky tonk music. This is a
welcome addition to any collection and
boasts four new recordings produced by
Frank Rogers.

It seems only yesterday that Keith or rather
keith was leading The Ranch and getting
no-where. Now, Keith is one of music's major
stars and a multi-award winner. It couldn't
happen to a nicer guy. I still have that signed
photograph, mate, and I value the warm
comments. I think that as his career develops
he will become a bigger force outside of
Country music and be recognized for not only
his songwriting and singing but also for his
fine picking.
