II make no bones about it, I am a die-hard Brad Paisley fan. Have been from the get-go. This marks a change of direction for Brad. The straight-ahead Country steps aside in a large way for a more Bakersfield/ZZ Top emphasis. The Paisley guitar is on fire as one expects in his stage act but the humor remains intact and a little off the wall as we also have learned to expect. The duet with Carrie Underwood will no doubt be a contender for the Special Event awards. There is another sample of the Kung Pao Buckeroos with added talents from Vince Gill but minus the Possum. Listen to it once and then re-listen and listen a third time and by then 5th Gear will be a part of your psyche.
