MOUNTAIN HEART
"WIDE OPEN"
SKAGGS FAMILY 6989020162
Produced by Mark Bright
Mountain Heart is one of my favorite Bluegrass groups. This cd marks a definite shift with Country producer Mark Bright coming on board and a lot of the material being from Country writers. The result is edgier and closer to Nickel Creek and therefore a lot less Bluegrassy. The use of percussion at times make the tracks a little more pop groovy than bluegrass. Unlike previous albums, this takes a few listens to get into.
