JASON MEADOWS AND MICHAEL SCOTT TO KICK OFF “THE MIRAGE PRESENTS RODEO VEGAS” AT THE MIRAGE HOTEL AND CASINO DECEMBER 3-12
NASHVILLE, TN—December 2, 2009—Country music stars Jason Meadows and Michael Scott are scheduled to kick off “The Mirage Presents Rodeo Vegas,” the official WNFR (Wrangler National Finals Rodeo) afterparty of the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Assn.). It promises to be the ultimate rodeo party and entertainment spectacular at The Mirage Hotel and Casino, December 3-12. The event brings together fans, spectators, and rodeo stars and contestants for music, dancing, promotions, prizes and parties throughout the 10 days of the WNFR competition. Meadows and Scott perform Dec. 3-4 and Dec. 5-6 respectively. The Mirage will broadcast a live feed of the WNFR nightly events in the “Rodeo Vegas” area at the “Race and Sports Book” in the casino, followed by live entertainment from Meadows, Scott, Hey Romeo, Derryl Perry, and members of George Strait’s Ace In The Hole Band. Replays of all WNFR action will be shown throughout the night. Attendees will have a chance to meet and greet the top WNFR competitors at The Mirage’s autograph sessions. Wrangler, Coors, Coca-Cola, Cactus Saddlery, Jack Daniels, AT&T, ProFantasy Rodeo, and Purina Mills sponsor the event. There is no cover charge. All events are presented courtesy of The Mirage Hotel and Casino. This year’s rodeo competition marks the 51st WNFR. “’Rodeo Vegas’ continues to grow and evolve each year and we are delighted with the strength of this event and our entertainment lineup”, says Anthony Di Liddo, hotel marketing coordinator, The Mirage Hotel and Casino. “Many well-loved and respected rodeo contestants will be right here on property at The Mirage. The rodeo- tied attractions and amenities targeting the champions, contestants and their supporters have proven a favorite and have marked The Mirage as a main component of the WNFR.”
Music and rodeo have been Jason Meadows' two greatest passions since he was six years old. While few entertainers have the talent to make a living both on stage and on horseback, Meadows is on that short and noteworthy list. The combination gives this handsome Oklahoman the rugged authenticity that helped carry him from his family's farm in Calera to Nashville, and from regional clubs to his impressive national CD release 100% COWBOY. Meadows is compelling both as a singer and as a person. Fortunately for country music fans, these days the music takes center stage. "I was born to do this,” he says. “When I step out on that stage, it's like stepping up to the edge of the Grand Canyon. You look out and it takes your breath away." Michael Scott admits he is a little rebellious, adventuresome and likes to live on the wild side. He combines his high-energy performance with traditional country flavor and a hint of southern rock. "Michael Scott is a great live entertainer with a unique voice," Tracy Lawrence once said in introducing Scott on stage. "He's got that 'something special,' not only as an entertainer but as a person, that translates well to the public. His live performance reminds me of the early Hank Jr. shows; he's edgy and in your face." In 2008, Scott signed with Lawrence’s Rocky Comfort Records label. His most recent CD release is titled BRING IT ON, a disc that followed two independent CDs, ROUGH RIDE and LOUD AND ROWDY. The Mirage opened in November 1989, setting a new standard for destination resorts in Las Vegas. Under new leadership since 2005, The Mirage has been redesigned with elaborate updates and continues to lead the industry as one of the world’s most popular resort destinations, providing new and innovative excitement at the legendary landmark. New restaurants like BLT Burger and B.B. King’ s Blues Club, new nightlife at RHUMBAR, entertainment by talented comedian, ventriloquist, and singer Terry Fator and the Cirque du Soleil® production The Beatles™ LOVE™, celebrating the musical legacy of The Beatles™, are just a few of the exciting additions to the property. B.B. King’s Blues Club will celebrate it’s “Grand Opening” December 11 with King himself scheduled to attend. The Mirage offers 100,000 square feet of gaming opportunities along with distinguishing dining establishments. The destination provides AAA Four-Diamond, award-winning service and accommodations with more than 3,044 rooms including 281 suites.
