CONTRIBUTE TO ACCLAIMED CHRISTMAS SERIES

(Los Angeles, CA - Thursday October 1st, 2009) The torch has been
passed to a new generation of superstar talent for A VERY SPECIAL
CHRISTMAS VOLUME 7, as Colbie Caillat, Carter Twins, Charice,
Miley Cyrus, Kristinia DeBarge, Gloriana, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean
Kingston, Leighton Meester, Mitchel Musso, Kellie Pickler, Ashley
Tisdale, and Carrie Underwood contribute to the latest edition of the
acclaimed  album series which benefits Special Olympics.   A VERY
SPECIAL CHRISTMAS VOLUME 7, set for release on November 24,
through the Universal Music Enterprises, features original
recordings of new and traditional Christmas songs which each
artist selected especially for this album.

In making the announcement, Timothy Shriver, Chairman and CEO
of Special Olympics, said, “This is a fantastic Christmas record
created by and for a new generation that wants to make the world a
better place.      The songs on   A Very Special Christmas Volume 7
have all the freshness and energy of the talented artists who
recorded them.  Through the spirit of their musical performances,
these young recording stars bring the same passion and
dedication to Special Olympics that our athletes display every day of
their lives.”

A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS VOLUME 7 and its focus on young
entertainers was the brainchild of entertainment attorney Greg
Lapidus, a founding partner of Lapidus and Haft who has
represented Special Olympics, the (RED) organization, and various
entertainment talent and entities.  “In a year filled with defining
moments for Special Olympics and this country,” Lapidus says, “it’s
wonderful to see that the philanthropic impulse of this new
generation of stars is strong. They have created an album of great
Christmas music, fun, cheery and perfect for their generation of
fans.”

Selling one million copies in its first year, the premier album, A Very
Special Christmas, released in 1987, and the subsequent albums
in the series, have generated more than $l00 million for Special
Olympics, the most ever raised by a benefit recording series.
Disbursed in grants by  the Special Olympics Christmas Records
Trust, the monies raised each year by the albums/CDs/DVDs play a
crucial role in the lives of the least-advantaged Special Olympics
athletes around the world where there are inaccurate and
prejudiced views about people with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver passed away
this year, but her words about the artists on the first volume of Very
Special Christmas apply to the artists on A Very Special Christmas
Volume 7, too. “I am full of admiration for the many artists who have
helped us.  It’s a great tribute that these men and women say to
themselves, ‘I’ll use my talent to help others.’ It’s not easy because
they’ve got so many demands on them and every charity wants
them, but they’ve helped us, and I’m very grateful.”

A VERY SPECIAL CHRISTMAS was launched when record
executive/producer Jimmy Iovine decided that a Christmas album
would be a beautiful memorial to his father.  Herb Alpert and Jerry
Moss (the "A" and "M" of A&M Records) helped make the first A Very
Special Christmas album possible with an advance and a
commitment to handle the record without taking any royalties, and
Bobby Shriver signed on as a producer.   Keith Haring, one of the
great artists of the 20th century, created the Madonna and child
artwork that has appeared on every cover.

Each successive album of the series has honored the quality of its
predecessors with timeless recordings of holiday music by some
of the most influential and talented artists of the time.  U2, Bruce
Springsteen & the E Street Band, Madonna, Sting, Bon Jovi, Reba
McIntyre, Alan Jackson,   Wyclef Jean, Sheryl Crow, Mary J. Blige, No
Doubt, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Vanessa
Williams and Bryan Adams are among the stars who contributed
tracks to the previous albums and whose songs for A Very Special
Christmas have become perennial favorites on the radio and at
holiday celebrations over the years.

CRACKER BARREL ANNOUNCES – THE ALAN JACKSON
COLLECTION

The Alan Jackson Collection includes complete lifestyle product line
as well as exclusive CD

LEBANON, Tenn. – 22 OCTOBER 2009 –   Cracker Barrel Old Country
Store® will take an important step forward with its music merchandising
program with the introduction of The Alan Jackson Collection, a 40+ piece
assortment of lifestyle items created in conjunction with megastar Alan
Jackson and available only at Cracker Barrel beginning November 2. The
popular restaurant and retail concept has been growing its business as a non-
traditional music retailer since 2003, and is setting a new standard by
developing this extensive assortment of high quality merchandise to appeal
to Cracker Barrel guests, many of whom are already Alan Jackson fans.

The Alan Jackson Collection features menswear and womenswear, food
items, collectibles, an Alan Jackson Signature Rocker and other exclusive
items (see full list below) including a CD.  SONGS OF LOVE AND
HEARTACHE includes two previously unreleased songs, “That’s What I’d
Be Like Without You,” and “Nothing Sure Looked Good On You,” as well
as 10 other songs, including such hits as “Here in the Real World,” “Livin
On Love,” and “Remember When.”

The Alan Jackson Collection is the first time Cracker Barrel has developed a
complete line of merchandise around a star.  Jackson was completely
involved in the creation of the collection. He personally reviewed and
approved all 40+ items and advised Cracker Barrel on what he thought might
appeal to his fans. The collection is truly a reflection of his personal lifestyle
centered on country heritage and family connections. The country music
singer and songwriter is well-known for his songs that tell of universal truths
by recounting honest, individual stories that resonate for many people as if
they were their own tales. That same attention to detail is apparent in every
item in this collection.

“I grew up in the South, so Cracker Barrel has been a part of my family
since I was a young man,” says Alan Jackson.  “I was really flattered when
they came to me with the idea of working together to create a collection for
their country store, and I’ve been very impressed with the variety and
quality of the items that we have put together. I think my fans and their
families will appreciate everything in the collection.”

At the centerpiece of The Alan Jackson Collection is the exclusive Alan
Jackson Signature Rocker, a piece of fine quality furniture. Reflecting the
earth tones that Alan favors, this solid hardwood rocker is made of Dutch
Spruce logs harvested in Maine and hand-assembled in Tennessee. The
Danish Walnut finish offers warmth to a room’s décor. The Alan Jackson
Signature Rocker has oversized posts for durability and is nailed and glued at
the joints for extra strength. Alan’s authentic signature is engraved in the
headrest. Each rocker is numbered as part of a limited edition of 1,700.

The Alan Jackson Collection also includes many functional, stylish items
such as mugs, candles and decorative throws to warm the different rooms in
a home and for all the people in the family. The collection includes jewelry,
shirts, and hats that have been crafted out of materials favored by Alan such
as suede, leather, and cotton. All items have been designed to meet Alan’s
personal taste, and his requirement for high quality standards and good, old-
fashioned comfort!

“Cracker Barrel has been focused for several years on providing our guests
with great musical offerings that they can get only at our stores and this
expansion into a complete, high quality, exclusive line of merchandise
associated with Alan Jackson’s lifestyle is a great next step,” says Peter
Keiser, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Marketing.  “The Alan Jackson
Collection is a good way for Cracker Barrel to connect with our guests, and
for our guests to connect with Alan.”

Since 2003, Cracker Barrel has featured a music program that offers exclusive
CDs by some of country music’s most popular artists. Earlier this year,
Cracker Barrel added to the CD offerings when it worked with Dolly Parton
to offer a Dolly-pink version of its signature rocking chair and an exclusive
photo album that became one of Cracker Barrel’s best-selling books ever.
With the launch of The Alan Jackson Collection, Cracker Barrel takes music
merchandising to a new level, one that will provide a great variety of quality
products for guests to consider and enjoy.

Cracker Barrel’s impressive exclusive music program features numerous
projects, including the September release of an exclusive new version of The
Foundation by the Zac Brown Band, which contained three previously
unreleased live tracks. That followed August’s George Jones release of A
Collection Of My Best Recollection, May’s release of Montgomery Gentry’
s For Our Heroes, which debuted at #5 on Billboard magazine’s Top
Country Album Chart, and March’s release of Dolly Parton’s Collectors’
Edition of Backwoods Barbie, which debuted at #9 on that chart. The series
also includes a number of exclusive releases in 2008 - November’s release of
Bill Gaither’s Homecoming Hymns, the August release of Kenny Rogers: 50
Years, the July release of Ricky Skaggs’ The High Notes and the April
release of Aaron Tippin’s He Believed.  Over the last few years, Cracker
Barrel has also released exclusive CDs featuring, among others, Alison
Krauss & Union Station, Josh Turner, Amy Grant, Sara Evans, and Charlie
Daniels.
ALAN JACKSON’S “I STILL LIKE BOLOGNA” VIDEO DEBUTS THIS
WEEK!

The video for Alan Jackson's “I Still Like Bologna” is a humorous
look back on changing times and the country superstar's continuing
affection for a favorite sandwich. It debuts this week on CMT and
GAC.

media.html

When you first see “I Still Like Bologna,” you might think there's
something wrong with your tv set since the nortoriously tall Jackson
seems to have shrunk down to knee high. But the pint sized
Jackson is really Jet Jurgensmeyer, who was brought in to portray
the pee wee sized Jackson of yore, when times were simpler and
there were no cell phones or video games. However, as Jackson
points out in his hit single, the important things indure, like love,
family and a good bologna sandwich on white bread.

The video was shot on the pond at Xanadu Ranch outside of
Nashville, and was directed by Scott Scovill of Branded Picture
Video Productions.
